About

Sensationalism and unreliability has become the new normal. Political division, war, tragedy and crime are the prime subjects for nightly newscasts and breaking updates, causing people specifically younger generations to avoid checking the news altogether. At The Lotus Review, we highlight the people who are innovating potential solutions to problems that we face every day.
Our magazine highlights these problems in education, technology, healthcare, business or sustainability but through the lens of people who want to fix them.
The “Why”
As working journalists, we understand the impact that a story can have on a person, a community and on society as a whole. During my sophomore year of college, entrepreneurship became a “beat” of mine I followed for my internship at The Whit, Rowan University’s campus newspaper. Immediately, I was inspired and empowered by the stories I was telling and the discoveries I made through my reporting and that only increased during my time as a reporter for South Jersey Climate News. The biggest thing that I learned, as I entered rooms full of ambitious people who were working towards a solution was that while there are a lot of problems out in the world, there are people who are willing to word hard to fix them. There are educators, entrepreneurs, researchers and scientists who want to make an impact, some of which are starting to already.
It’s important that people discover what problems are out in the world, but it’s equally important to know that there are solutions to them.
